The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil & Gas Resources Management is reaching out to potential contractors to make them aware of opportunities for orphan well plugging opportunities in the Buckeye State resulting from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
Anticipating additional funding that will be available to Ohio, the division encourages contractors to explore the opportunities available through the Landowner Pass-through Payment Program. The division recently approved the first two projects for this program since revisions were made in Ohio House Bill 225 and the division believes additional opportunities exist for businesses interested in well plugging.
The program will be discussed in a virtual meeting on February 9 at 9 a.m. To find out more about Ohio's plugging program and this opportunity, download a letter of invitation from ODNR.
